This site is run by me, Brad Gauthier, as a personal website. It collects very little. The plain-language version is below; if you want the full picture, keep reading.
The short version
bradleygauthier.com runs no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn pixel, no advertising trackers, and no third-party tracking of any kind. The only data I see is the basic visit information that any web server records, plus simple internal page-view counts. I don't sell, share, or trade any of it. If you email me, I keep your email so I can reply. That's it.
What I collect, and how
Web hosting. Like every website, my hosting provider records standard server-log information for each visit: IP address, approximate location (country and region), browser type, device type, and pages requested. This is used for content delivery, security (blocking malicious traffic), and aggregate performance monitoring. The hosting provider has its own data practices; the name of the current provider is available on request.
Internal page-view counts. I keep a simple aggregate count of which pages on this site are visited and how often, using analytics built into my own software. These counts do not identify you individually, do not follow you across other websites, and do not build a profile of you.
Email you send me. If you contact me at hello@contactbrad.com, I keep your email and message so I can reply and remember our conversation. I do not add you to any mailing list. You can ask me to delete the thread at any time.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking cookies. My hosting provider may set small security cookies (for example, to verify you are not a bot) as part of normal hosting. These do not identify you to me. Your browser controls let you block or delete cookies at any time.
What I do not do
- I do not run third-party advertising trackers.
- I do not sell, rent, or trade your data, ever.
- I do not build profiles of individual visitors.
- I do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn tracking, or any similar service.
- I do not share data with marketing partners.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent me information, contact me and I will delete it.
Your rights
Wherever you are in the world, you can ask me what information I have about you, ask me to correct or delete it, ask me to stop using it, or ask for a copy of it. Email me and I will respond within 30 days.
If you are in California (CCPA): you have the right to know what personal information has been collected, to request deletion, to opt out of the sale of personal information (I do not sell personal information, so this is already covered), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR): you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and request portability of your personal data. The lawful bases for processing are: legitimate interest (for aggregate analytics and security) and contract (for replying to emails you send me). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
International data transfers
I am based in the United States. If you visit this site from outside the US, your visit data is processed in the US. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.
Security
I take reasonable measures to protect the small amount of information this site handles, including HTTPS for all traffic and standard hosting-provider security. No system is perfectly secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security of anything transmitted over the internet.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
